Entry for January 16, 2007

It was the guys’ turn Saturday, and another couple close games ensued.

Ron Lewis of Ohio State hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds to go, and the Bucks held on to beat Tennessee 68-66 in Columbus. With a decided height advantage, Greg Oden had a career high in points. Of course, his career is just getting started.

Kentucky also won at home, beating a good Mississippi State team 64-60. I don’t think coach Smith was happy with the effort, at least in the early stages of the game. But the Cats sealed the deal when it counted.

The UK women had a heartbreaker Sunday afternoon in losing to Ole Miss in overtime. It was the first conference loss of the year for the LadyKats. The OSU women had no trouble with Northwestern.

Saturday night, I put in and enjoyable 7 1/3 hours in the North American CW QSO Party. I had a significant increase in my score compared to last year.
