A bunch of streaks come to an end

A whole bunch of streaks came to an end Saturday. Some good, some bad :-).

Columbus had lost 12-in-a-row to Nashville before pulling out a 2-1 shootout win last night. Nikolai Zherdev had the only shootout goal for the win.

Kentucky had lost 4-in-a-row to Vanderbilt, and were underdogs as the undefeated and 13th-ranked Commodores came into Rupp Arena yesterday. But the Cats played their best game of the year so far, and won 79-73 in double overtime. The Cats blew a big lead early in the game, but pulled out a big victory.

Ohio State had won 19 Big Ten games in-a-row going back to January of last year. But the Bucks dropped a 75-68 decision at Purdue. The Bucks also had an 8-game winning streak going against the Boilers. This young OSU team has improved a lot, but will still be susceptible to road losses now and then.
