The luck of the Bruins

I’ve considered UCLA to be a prime candidate for the national championship this season because of their defense. But they’ve been winning lately due to officiating.

Thursday night, Stanford blocked a UCLA shot with 1.5 seconds to go, but a foul was called. UCLA hit two free throws to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Yesterday, a California player was fouled as the ball was inbounded, and the ref ruled that Cal had lost the ball out-of-bounds. That set up UCLA’s game-winning basket.

The Columbus Dispatch says that central Ohio got 20.4 inches of snow through last night. I think we have 4-6 inches here. Some parts of Kentucky have up to 14 inches.

The sun is shining here today, and we’re expecting a high around 37.

The UK women lost to LSU last night in the SEC tourney semifinals.
