Entry for March 21, 2008

Ohio State got win number 20 on the season with an 84-66 win over UNC-Asheville on Tuesday night in the NIT. Next up: the California Bears on Monday night.

Freddie Norrena got his fourth career shutout as the Blue Jackets beat Calgary 3-0, also on Tuesday. Columbus then took a 3-game winning streak over the Red Wings to Detroit on Wednesday, but lost 3-1 as Zetterberg had a hat trick.

We had a bunch of rain midweek, and there was some flooding in the vicinity. Nothing like what they’ve had north and west of here. Today it is beautiful with highs in the 60s.

Kentucky lost in the NCAA first round to Marquette. It was the tenth tournament meeting for those two teams, an NCAA record.

Western Kentucky just finished beating Drake 101-99 in overtime, in one of the best first-round games I have seen in a long time.
