Memorial Day

I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend. Let’s be sure to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms we have in the USA.

I’m way behind on this blog, but I’ll mention a few things here to get caught up.

Bonnie had her colonoscopy and got a clean bill of health.

Earlier in May, I made four CW QSOs using ONE WATT of output power. Thanks to K1IB, W1ZT, K1TTT and W1WEF for hearing my puny signal. These QSOs were made in the New England QSO Party.

My niece Kate had the lead role of Annie Oakley in her high school’s presentation of “Annie Get Your Gun”. It is hard to believe that she and brother Sam will be graduating high school next Saturday.

Miata accidents continued with the “new” Miata (the blue one) being rear-ended by a dump truck as I was on my way back to town from taking Bonnie to her colonoscopy. The dump truck company’s insurance did a great job on the repairs, so no harm done.

I rented a Kia Optima while the Miata was in the body shop. It is a nice car. If you are looking for a basic four-door sedan, it is worth considering.

The Lexington Legends are a class A farm team in the Houston Astros organization. Bonnie and I got to see them for the first time as an “IBM night out”. It was cloudy and cold, so we didn’t stay long.
