Entry for October 12, 2008 part 2

Just how bad is this year’s Michigan team? They had never lost to a MAC school until yesterday, when Toledo, not exactly a MAC power, came into the Big House and won 13-10. It was the third home loss of the year for Michigan, who lost to Utah and Illinois earlier.

Steve Spurrier is now 16-0 against Kentucky as South Carolina came to Lexington and beat the Cats 24-17. Kentucky is going to have to start winning home games against teams like South Carolina in order to be taken seriously on a national level.

Ohio State beat Purdue 16-3 in a defensive struggle.

Texas is this week’s new #1 team in the land after beating previously #1 Oklahoma 45-35 in a great game. The Sooners lead for much of it but the Longhorns prevailed in the end. There were a lot of strange plays and strange calls. All-in-all, an entertaining game.

In another interesting game, Notre Dame seemed to have control at North Carolina but lost 29-24.
