Entry for February 17, 2009

The Ohio State women lost two in a row (at Michigan State as previously reported, then at Iowa) before routing Northwestern. That leaves the Bucks and the Spartans tied for first place in the Big Ten at 11-3, with 4 games to go. I would say the Spartans have an easier schedule the rest of the way, but both teams have a lot of work to do. The Kentucky women lost at Auburn.

The Ohio State men played Wisconsin close in Madison before losing 55-50. With a conference record of 7-5, the Bucks have an excellent chance of finishing in the top half of the league, and getting a first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament.

Jodie Meeks had 45 points as Kentucky won big at Arkansas. The Cats visit Nashville tonight, a place that is always tough.

Since my last post, the Blue Jackets collected 5 points in 3 games. Looks like I will get to visit Nationwide Arena Saturday night for the Anaheim-Columbus game.

I had 214 contacts in the CQ WW WPX RTTY contest over the weekend, in the low-power category.
