Southern Lights

Bonnie and I visited Southern Lights at the Kentucky Horse Park Friday night. We go every year, and I strongly recommend anyone near central Kentucky do the same! Nice Christmas lights, great model railroads by the Bluegrass Railroad Club and other fun stuff.

The Blue Jackets ended a long losing streak last week with a 3-2 shootout win over Dallas, ending a long win streak for the Stars. After a loss in St. Louis, Columbus came home and beat the Rangers on Saturday. Earlier in the season, the Jackets seemed better on the road than at home. That pattern didn’t hold up last week.

The Kentucky men’s team posted wins over Notre Dame and Indiana. The Hoosiers kept it close for most of the game, and are coming back to life under Tom Crean. The Ohio State men had wins over IUPUI and Western Carolina. IUPUI led the game in the second half, but the Bucks prevailed in the end.

The women weren’t so fortunate. Kentucky visited Louisville and got blown out for their first loss of the season. Since the Cats beat the Cards last year by about 40 points, perhaps they overlooked them. Kentucky rebounded with wins over Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga.

The OSU women had a nice win over #11 Oklahoma, but then visited Syracuse and lost for the first time this season.

We’ve had more snow and cold weather here.
