Kiwi SDR

February 10, 2019

Long-time readers know that I provide a couple of radio receivers on the GlobalTuners web site (www.globaltuners.com). These work well (when my Internet service is OK) but only one frequency can be monitored at a time. I have now also put a “Kiwi” software designed radio (SDR) online. To access it, you can go to the website SDR.hu and search for “ku4a”, or use the direct URL: http://ku4a.ddns.net:8073

As with other SDRs, you get a visual (“waterfall”) representation of the area of the radio spectrum you are interested in. (The Kiwi covers up to 30 MHz). The Kiwi allows up to four simultaneous users on four different frequencies. From the SDR.hu website you can also access nearly 400 other Kiwis online around the world.

The UK men are in great shape, having won 10 in-a-row. The Cats are ranked around #5 nationally in most polls or rankings. Tennessee continues to rule the roost in the SEC with a perfect 10-0 record. LSU and UK are right behind at 9-1. This week will see the Cats play host to both LSU and Tennessee, and then UK travels to Knoxville on March 2nd. So, a lot of changes in the standings are coming up.

The Blue Jackets have has some streaks good and bad since my last post. January ended with a 5-game losing streak which dropped Columbus into a wild-card spot. But a 3-game trip out west was just completed with three victories over Colorado, Arizona and Las Vegas. So the Jackets are in third place in the Metro, five points behind the Islanders.

The Ohio State men and women are both 6-6 in the conference. The UK women are 6-4.
