27 In-A-Row

October 2, 2013

Florida beat Kentucky 24-7 Saturday to extend its streak to 27-straight over the Cats in football. I believe it is the longest such streak in the college game. Before losing to Louisville two Saturdays ago, Kentucky beat Miami of Ohio 41-7 for the lone “W” so far this season. It doesn’t get any easier this week as the Cats travel to Columbia Saturday night.

Urban Meyer still hasn’t lost at Ohio State. The Bucks had a nice working margin in Columbus Saturday night, then held on to beat Wisconsin 31-24. Saturday night’s trip to Northwestern will be a big test. A lot of pundits will doubtless have it on their lists as an “upset special”. The Wildcats haven’t faced tough competition yet but have looked good so far.

A project I completed recently was taking photographs of the various certificates I have earned in ham radio. If you’ve ever wondered about the wallpaper you can collect as a ham, go here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ku4a/sets/72157635408433264/

KY-QRP had a nice field event at the Kentucky Horse Park a couple weeks ago. Here is some video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlgRcf7QvKI

As usual, the Bryan Station High School homecoming parade came by my house. Here is video of that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLCxBskwxT4

September was a good month for me in ham radio. I worked a bunch of new countries, and a lot of these were confirmed via Logbook of The World. I’m hoping propagation continues to be good this fall and winter.
